A former Yuba County Sheriff's narcotics officer is facing a possible life prison term after being convicted this week on several drug-related charges.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 38-year-old Christopher Heath grew marijuanna in Oroville and then shipped it through the post office to locations on the East Coast.
He was arrested in 2015 when he arrived at a drop off spot in Pennsylvania with pot bundles worth nearly a half-million dollars.
He was a carrying a loaded Glock handgun at the time, as well as his deputy badge.
The trafficking-while-armed charge carries a possible life term.
His other convictions could get him an addition 40 years or more.
A tentative August 16th sentencing date has been set.
