Fighting the Flu There are some nasty bugs going around right now, but odds are it isn't the flu. Area health officials are gearing up for this season's flu and the flu show is already available in some places, but the virus hasn't taken hold in Northern California or Western Nevada. Yet. Today on Insight, we'll talk with an expert in infectious disease about ways you can avoid the flu and prevent spreading it. Dr. David Herbert is the Chief of Infectious Diseases for Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento and Roseville.

"Stem Cells: An Insider's Guide" A UC Davis professor has written a new book about exciting stem cell issues, inluding cloning. Prof. Paul Knoepfler studies stem cells and cancer and his new book is "Stem Cells: An Insider's Guide." We'll talk with Prof. Knoepfler about the stem cell research happening at UC Davis and why Sacramento is a hotbed for this kind of research. He also has a popular blog on the topic.
