Another tech firm is planning to bring jobs to the Sacramento area. SupportPay is a San Francisco Bay Area company that allows parents to pay child support through an online app. Job listings show the company is hiring for multiple positions.
A few weeks ago, Mayor Kevin Johnson announced that the small digital media firm Parrable is coming to the capital city.
Sacramento Business Journal Digital Editor Sonya Sorich says these firms are part of an evolving economic development strategy for the city.
"Sacramento is trying to recruit lots of these smaller Bay Area tech firms instead of trying to go for giants like Google or AirBnB," says Sorich. "Sacramento might actually have a chance when it comes to appealing to these smaller companies that are kind of feeling squeezed with high costs and traffic in the Bay Area."
Sorich also has news about Cracker Barrel possibly opening a location in Sacramento, Sprouts opening a store in North Natomas and The Kitchen appearing on OpenTable's list of the nation's 100 best restaurants for foodies.
