(AP) — Local officials have decreased the legal shooting area in the wilderness near Reno.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the Washoe County Commission voted Tuesday to decrease the area where shooting is allowed on Peavine Mountain. It will also make the zone's boundaries clearer.
Nearly everything to the east and south of Peavine Peak Road is now off limits to shooting. Shooting is still legal in most of the area north and west of the road.
Commissioner Marsha Berkbigler says having a clear line will help authorities enforce the law.
