The City of Stockton is looking for volunteers to provide home water samples that will be tested for lead and copper levels.
According to acting director of Stockton's Municipal Utilities Department Bob Granberg, many people have expressed concern about water safety after the conversion to chloramine from chlorine for water purification.
Granberg says, "The results were no different when we had sampled before when we were strictly a chlorine disinfecting system so we're seeing no change in the results."
Testing continues, according to Grandberg.
Rebecca Carnell volunteered to have her water tested and she likes being able to see the results.
She says, "I don't want to say relieved because I wasn't really worried but I felt better informed and confident whenever I turn on the tap that there was no problem."
Volunteers can sign up on Stockton's website for voluntary water testing on a first come, first served basis.
