(AP) - Dozens of skiers and snowboarders were evacuated from a chairlift at a Lake Tahoe resort after an unoccupied chair fell from the cable.
Heavenly Mountain Resort says no one was injured after the Sunday morning incident. A statement from the resort says the chair fell from the downhill side of the North Bowl lift around 11 a.m.
Officers stopped the lift and ski patrol workers evacuated all 65 people who were riding it.
Operation of the lift will be suspended until Heavenly's lift maintenance workers have investigated what happened.
Heavenly Mountain Resorts is owned by Vail Resorts, Inc., of Broomfield, Colorado.
