Update 9:20 p.m. - The Butte Fire in Amador and Calaveras counties has grown to 1,200 and is 30 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.
PG&E says about 15,000 customers are without power due to the fire. The utility company's map shows outages in Jackson, Pine Grove and Pioneer.
The company says they have facility damage along with poles and lines down within the footprint of the fire. The extent of the damage is unknown until a full assessment can be made. There is no ETA on when the power will be restored, according to PG&E.

The Red Cross announced via Twitter that there'll be two shelters set up -- one at Mokeulmne Hill Elem school and another at San Andreas Community Center.
Update 7:45 p.m. - The Butte Fire has grown to an estimated 500 acres according to YubaNet.com. Crews are expected to work through the night to build containment lines.
Fire crews from across northern California are en route to the incident, with more than 200 personnel already working the fire.
Update 7:25 p.m. - Cal Fire says the Butte Fire has jumped the river and is now burning in both Amador and Calaveras counties.
From the latest incident report update: "Fire is burning in the Mokeloumne River drainage. Fire crews are battling very steep terrain and hot temperatures. Fire is burning to the east. Fire has jumped across the river into Calarveras County."
Update 6:53 p.m. - Additional evacuations have been ordered for Jesus Maria road and the Hwy 26 area in Calaveras County, according to the KVGS 1340 AM Facebook page.
Update 6:45 p.m. - Cal Fire has ordered evacuations for Amador Lane, end of Electra and Charamuga Ranch Road.
KVGS 1340 AM reported at 6:30 p.m. on its Facebook page that power is out to 14,000 customers in Amador and parts of Calaveras County.
They report the fire is moving southeast, and that no homes are threatened in Amador County.
Update 6:02 p.m. - Amador Lane, Electra Rd, Charamunga Ranch Road are closed. Cal Fire is staging engines at Tabeau Picnic Campgrounds in Jackson.
Update 5:52 p.m. - Cal Fire reports the Butte Fire has grown to 160 acres and is 30 percent contained.
There are 20 fire engines, six fire crews, five air tankers, three helicopters and three bulldozers assigned to the incident.
Original story: 4:57 p.m. - Firefighters are battling a 50-acre fire east of Jackson.
Bryce Bennett with Cal Fire says low humidity and high temperatures have helped the fire spread.
"Mokelumne River drainage is a pretty steep river drainage and it's a very treacherous area. Firefighters need to be extra careful with their footing."
Bennett says some structures are threatened, but there are engines in place to guard them. Cal Fire airplanes are also fighting the fire.
