Stanford researchers have found that lack of exercise may be the reason obesity rates are rising in the United States. A new study from Stanford found that people are eating about the same amount of food they were eating 25 years ago, but they’re exercising less, which correlates with the country’s collective weight gain –more than two thirds of U.S. adults are considered obese or overweight. Dr. Uri Ldabaum is an associate professor of gastroenterology and lead author of the study. He joins us to explain more about the findings, which will appear in the August issue of The American Journal of Medicine but is available online now in a draft form.
