"We did notice that there were some individuals that were receiving what appeared to be a relatively high number of overtime hours -in some cases breaking 2,000 hours per year," Oseguera says.
Oseguera will ask a Sacramento City Council sub-committee Tuesday to approve an audit of the fire department, likely for the next fiscal year.
The plan also includes an audit of the operating costs and payment of deficits related to the Convention Center.
The auditor's office is currently examining the city's sidewalk repair program and is conducting an inventory of the information technology department.
