Striking members of the United Food and Commercial Workers picketed outside Raley's stores again Monday. They went on strike after marathon negotiations with the company failed on Saturday, and the company imposed a new contract.
The UFCW says Raley's has tried to take away pension and healthcare benefits with its latest contract offer.
Raley's says only wage freezes and the elimination of Sunday and holiday pay are on the table as cost-cutting measures.
Raley's claims a little more than half of its 7500 unionized employees did not go to work today. The United Food and Commercial Workers' Union has not responded to requests for a figure.
Employees have been without a contract since October of last year.
No further talks between the company and the union are scheduled.
