Monday's Robbers Fire coverage

Fox40 report from the scene of the only residence burned in the Robbers Fire. The report includes a telephone interview with the owner of the vacation cabin that burned to the ground.

Cal Fire reports that the fire continues to spread on the north and east sides, threatening
Brushy Creek Subdivision, Haynes Mine, and Kings Hill. Resources are assigned to structure defense in the threatened areas.
 
Containment is now 30 percent with 2,400 acres burnt. Four outbuildings and one home have been lost. There are 2,147 people working the blaze, with 12 injuries reported.
 
Evacuations remain in effect for homes off Yankee Jims Canyon & Shirttail Canyon area, as well as parts of Iowa Hill. 170 homes are threatened and 350 people have been evacuated.
 
The following streets are evacuated: Just Rd., Bigg Dipper Rd., Glory Mound Rd., Kings Hill Rdl., Brush Bear Rd., Brushy Creek Ln., Macy Creek, Adelin, Blind Doe, Mountain Lion, Spring Garden Rd, Log Cabin Ln., Pine Mountain Rd., Small Hope Mine Ln., Owl Creek Rd. and parts of Shrit Tail Canyon.
 
Road closures: Just Rd., Big Dipper Rd., Glory Mound Rd., Kings Hill Rd., Brushy Bear Rd., Brushy Creek Rd. and Shirt Tail Canyon Rd.
 
The American Red Cross has established an evacuation shelter at the Foresthill High School. An animal shelter is located at the Pleasant Street entrance of the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn.

Cal Fire is reporting the cost of fighting the Robbers Fire stood at $3.2 million as of early Sunday. The nearly 2,000 people working the fire from the air and ground are maintaining a 20 percent containment rate in the rugged, heavily timbered area.
 
The Auburn Journal reported earlier Sunday that a fire crew is standing by a home as the flames moved to withing one-half mile of the structure.  See the Auburn Journal Story.
 
The American Red Cross has established an evacuation shelter at the Foresthill High School. Animal Shelter is located at the Pleasant Street entrance of the Gold Country Fairgrounds.

The Red Cross moved the Evacuation Center to the Foresthill High School Gym.

Widespread smoky conditions will affect Placer County from the valley to the Lake Tahoe area from the Robbers Fire. Average concentrations of fie particulates (PM2.5) found in smoke, continue to fluctuate throughout the day, with conditions ranging from moderate to hazardous depending on the location. Read More
