Mayor Johnson had set the city council meeting of December 13th as the day he wanted a vote on the funding, revenue sharing, and construction details of a $387 Million project. But because the NBA's focus has been more on labor talks than arena talks, Johnson expects some parts of the project won't be ready until January.
JOHNSON: "We should have hopefully a constant laid out with a financing plan and all the particulars in place. I've again talked with the commissioner once, have a call set again this week."
Johnson hopes a couple of key components can be voted on in two weeks. He says the delay will not push any votes close to the drop-dead date of March 1st. That is when the Kings owners, the Maloofs could file with the NBA to move the team to Anaheim, if a Sacramento arena deal isn't finalized.
