It’s no secret the retail scene in downtown Sacramento is struggling. The area is dotted with vacant storefronts and rundown buildings. And there are questions about the future of the Downtown Plaza and the K Street Mall.
 
With that in mind, the Downtown Sacramento Partnership has hired its first “retail recruiter.” Valerie Mamone-Werder is a former Sacramento shop owner herself.  She talks about the business of luring businesses to downtown.
