Moshe Rynecki painted every day life in Poland between the world wars. Some of his work ended up in collections, some was destroyed. Moshe died in the Holocaust. His daughter, Elizabeth Rynecki, took up the search for the paintings and wrote about her experiences in Chasing Portraits. The book is part real-life mystery, part labor of love.
