The holiday theme park known as Global Winter Wonderland has returned to Sacramento's Cal Expo this year, with some changes.
Organizer Joanna Ricken said many of the giant Chinese lanterns are new and there will be more circus acts.
"We have our circus of light returning four times a night and that's free with admission, we have a lot of fire acts, we have a cyr wheel, contortionists and a lot of juggling," Ricken said.
Around 70 artists design the lanterns and exhibits. They come to Sacramento from China each year to install their creations.
About 100 people will be employed by the theme park between now and the first week of January.
This is the fourth year for the show in Sacramento. A second display was in Tulare last year and is in San Diego this year.
Promoters say more that 200,000 people attend the Sacramento show annually.
