The Sacramento band Petaluma started as an experimental pop duo with Rob Habel and Pat Sweeney blending psychedelic rock, electronica, and indie music. Since their self-titled album was released in January 2017, they've added four musicians to fill out their sound for live performances.

Rob Habel, Pat Sweeney, and drummer Melissa Garcia share secrets from adapting the album to a six-piece live band. Pat Sweeney also discusses inspiration from his audio engineering mentor Flawn Williams, an NPR veteran.
